Under academic patronage and with official attendance, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra discussed a master's thesis in sports sociology.

The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, chaired the committee that discussed the master's thesis submitted by graduate student Mohammed Ahmed Abdul Hussein. The discussion was attended by Mr. Jaafar Sinakh Al-Hajjaj, a member of the Basra Provincial Council, and Dr. Ali Al-Kinani, President of the Basra Olympic Committee.

The discussion committee comprised a distinguished group of experts specializing in sports sociology and the science of testing and measurement, reflecting the rigorous academic integration that characterizes graduate studies at the college.

The thesis was titled:

“Social Support and its Relationship to Levels of Aspiration According to Training Age and Academic Level of Specialized Basketball School Players.” The discussion featured an in-depth scholarly dialogue addressing the methodological, theoretical, and applied aspects of the thesis. It concluded with its approval after fulfilling all academic requirements, and the researcher was awarded a Master's degree with a grade of "Very Good." The committee members commended the researcher's efforts and the importance of the study's topic and its findings, which contribute to the development of the sports and academic environment, particularly in the fields of sports sociology and athlete development in specialized schools.
