The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, received Mr. Jaafar Sinakh Al-Hajjaj, a member of the Basra Provincial Council and head of the Youth and Sports Committee, in an official visit aimed at strengthening prospects for joint cooperation and improving the college's sports infrastructure.

The visit included a comprehensive field tour to inspect the stadiums, sports halls, and educational facilities. The guest listened to a detailed explanation from the Dean regarding the current state of these facilities, their development needs, and future plans aimed at upgrading them to match the college's status as one of the leading academic institutions in preparing athletic talent.

The meeting also addressed mechanisms for developing the stadiums and sports halls and overcoming obstacles hindering project implementation, leveraging the role of the Youth and Sports Committee of the Basra Provincial Council in supporting sports and academic institutions. Professor Jaafar Sinakh Al-Hajjaj affirmed his commitment to providing all possible support to the college and pledged to work towards overcoming the obstacles hindering its projects. He also promised to sponsor joint workshops and scientific conferences that would bring together academics, decision-makers, and sports authorities to discuss the current state of sports in Basra Governorate and develop scientific visions to contribute to its development and advancement.

For his part, the Dean expressed his gratitude for the visit, emphasizing that cooperation between the university and the local government is a fundamental pillar for supporting the sports movement, developing infrastructure, and creating a comprehensive academic and sporting environment that serves students, athletes, and the Basra community in general.
