From Shalamcheh… University of Basra inaugurates the epic of Husseini generosity with the launch of its first processions to serve Arbaeen pilgrims.

In a scene overflowing with faith and generosity, embodying the highest ideals of belonging, national responsibility, and humanity, the first group of processions from the colleges of the University of Basra set out today from the Shalamcheh border crossing to serve the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). The university thus announces its participation in the timeless epic of Arbaeen, which exemplifies the most magnificent forms of solidarity, volunteerism, and selflessness.

The first group included processions from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the College of Agriculture, and the College of Education for Pure Sciences, under the direct supervision of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, and headed by the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed. The deans of the participating colleges were also present, along with a large number of faculty members and staff who responded to the call of duty with dedication and sincerity, providing various forms of logistical and service support to the Husseini processions and the esteemed pilgrims.

This initiative is an extension of the leading role played by the University of Basra in serving the community, reinforcing the values ​​of giving and volunteer work, and aligning with its academic and humanitarian mission, which makes the university an active partner in all major national and religious events.
