Graduate Studies Unit Tasks
The Graduate Studies Unit is one of the core administrative units in the college and undertakes the following tasks:
1. Admissions and Registration Affairs
Receiving and reviewing applications for graduate studies (Master's/PhD) according to ministerial regulations.
Preparing admission data and submitting it to the university and relevant authorities.
Following up on the registration procedures for accepted students and completing their files.
2. Student Administrative and Academic Follow-up
Organizing student files and ensuring their continuous updating throughout their studies.
Monitoring attendance, recording absences, and processing correspondence related to deferring or extending a student's studies.
Monitoring the implementation of examination regulations and the requirements for advancing from one academic level to another.
3. Supervising Schedules and Academic Coordination
Preparing weekly course schedules in coordination with the academic departments.
Organizing the graduate studies committees within the college and monitoring their meetings and minutes.
Assigning students to supervisors according to their academic specializations.
4. Examination Affairs
Preparing semester and final examination schedules for graduate students.
Organizing the requirements for the comprehensive examination and documenting its lectures and results.
Monitoring student results and submitting them to the Graduate Studies Division at the University Presidency.
5. Research and Thesis Affairs
Reviewing thesis and dissertation titles and submitting them to the University for approval.
Monitoring the progress of research and documenting supervisors' reports.
Organizing the procedures for thesis and dissertation defenses, including issuing orders, appointing committees, and preparing files.
Archiving copies of theses and dissertations electronically and in hard copy.
